3 Things to Remember This New Years

Hello Everyone!

The New Year is upon us, and goodness let's hope it's better than 2017(...and 2016). Personally, the first half of the year was great for me--I went to London and lived an absolute dream. The second half...was less than ideal. But here we are! At the end of it...now.

Since 2018 will be here in a few days I thought I would remind everyone of a few important things, because they're easily forgotten sometimes.

1. New Year doesn't have to mean "New You"
We hear it all the time and it is rarely ever accurate. In my opinion, completely reimagining yourself for a new year on somewhat short notice (let's be honest you're not thinking of New Years Resolutions in June...are you?) is insane. And relatively impossible. If changing aspects of yourself/life is crucial, maybe make a main point or small list of achievable goals that you won't completely drop three days into the new year.

2. Spread Holiday Cheer
Why is it that happiness and joy is so insanely focused on in the month of December? Why not always? Obviously every person being cheerful everyday all day is unrealistic, but being kind to those around you can really make a difference in how people see you, and how you see people. I, of course, don't know what kind of person you are. But, I like to think that you're kind, for the most part. That's how I strive to be, but that could also be linked to my overwhelming fear of conflict...

3. Don't Disappoint Yourself
When I say this, I don't mean "Stick to your Resolution" "Don't Give Up" Blah blah. I'm saying, set achievable goals--whether it be to get up in the morning(or at all) each day, or to try out one of those bookmarked recipes from last year, anything that you can do.
If you set some goals that don't work out, that is completely fine too. Be okay with that. It isn't the end of the world and goals don't have to be set and started on New Years, setting new goals all through the year is a good thing that can really help you get through the day.

This isn't a lot but I'm sure you've heard it all. I hope this helps you break in the new year. And truly, I do hope that it's a good year for everyone.

Also if you didn't see I've posted several new videos this month on YouTube, for a 12 Days of Christmas series, you can see the full playlist here. Don't forget to subscribe!
